Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Veterans and Former Law Enforcement Professionals Are Encouraged to Apply!
Location: Huntsville, AL
Compensation: $250,000 - $275,000 per year
Employment Type: Full-time
Position Overview
The CFO will serve as a key strategic leader shaping the company's financial future. Reporting to the CEO, this executive will provide oversight of all financial strategy, corporate finance, capital management, regulatory compliance, and performance optimization across a multi-state operating platform.
This is not a conventional accounting position. The CFO will be responsible for building institutional-grade financial infrastructure, advancing operational finance and FP&A capabilities, strengthening margin discipline, and positioning the organization for sustainable growth, M&A activity, and long-term value creation.
The right candidate is equally at ease in the boardroom, the field, and in front of clients — translating frontline operational realities into strategic planning and forward-looking financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and execute all aspects of the company's financial strategy and long-range financial planning.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across all business lines and geographies.
- Oversee cash flow management, working capital optimization, and capital allocation.
- Build and manage a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations across all operating jurisdictions.
- Support M&A due diligence, integration planning, and strategic partnership evaluations.
- Develop and maintain financial reporting frameworks for executive leadership and board stakeholders.
- Partner with operations leaders to align financial performance with service delivery objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role.
- Experience in security, defense contracting, government services, or multi-site service businesses is highly valued.
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale financial operations in a growing organization.
- Military or law enforcement background is a strong differentiator.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base salary: $250,000 - $275,000
- Performance bonus eligibility
- Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
- 401(k) retirement plan with matching
- Executive-level paid time off
- Professional development and continuing education support
