The ASO Team Member is a well-rounded individual who works well with a diverse group of corporate managers, supervisors, and employees.

 

Job Summary:

The ASO Team Member Optimizes safety/security perception while providing a secure and welcoming experience for the client’s employees and guests at both a retail location and a business campus.

 

Essential Duties/Tasks:

  • The ASO Team Member provides a safe and secure environment for the client
  • The ASO Team Member will support the company’s Uniform Guard Service
  • Responsible for the life, safety, and physical security of assigned client
  • Must be flexible and possess the ability to function in stressful situations
  • Ability to work independently and provide exceptional customer service to our client
  • Build a safe and friendly setting for visitors and clients in a professional manner, as well as safeguard client assets
  • Observe for unusual activity and respond accordingly and safely to potential emergencies on-site
  • Display a positive and supportive attitude toward the customer-centric environment
  • Sustain command presence and serve as a deterrent to possible criminal activity in the store. Customers should always be greeted upon entering the store and, when possible, offer directions and/or information
  • Communicate with Retail and Security Leadership for any inquiries or investigations
  • Report to the Campus ASO Team Leader for all security-related incidents
  • Work in conjunction with campus operations under the guidance of the ASO Team Leader
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity to the Security Supervisor, who will provide further direction or response
  • Support Retail Leadership requests for escalated customer removal
  • Remain alert to surroundings and proactively identify and communicate concerns to Retail Leadership
  • Conduct periodic foot patrols within the store’s proximity to be of visual deterrence.
  • Assist with escorts as needed
  • All other duties, as assigned

 

 Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Four years of honorable military experience or law enforcement equivalent

 

 License/Certifications:

  • Possess/maintain a valid Washington Security Guard Card
  • Possess/maintain a valid Washington driver’s license
  • Peace Officer Standards Training (POST) Certification or Honorably Discharged Military (DD214 required)

 

 Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures
  • Keen sense of situational awareness
  • Strong customer relations skills
  • Remain calm and collected under stressful conditions
  • The ability to take direction and execute
  • Confidence when taking the initiative to solve problems
  • Strong written communication skills

 

Working Environments/Physical Requirements:

  • Physically capable of moving fast and traveling distances of 2+ miles on foot
  • Work in different environments and terrains and frequently travel around the client’s property
  • Work outside, regardless of weather conditions
  • Lift up to 70 lb.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed
  • Required to drive a company/client vehicle between sites
  • Physically capable to stand for a minimum of 8 hours

 

Reporting Structure & Classification:

The ASO Team Member is a full-time hourly non-exempt position that reports directly to the Retail Operations Manager in conjunction with the ASO Team Leader to support campus operations throughout the Seattle area.

Compensation:

  • ASO Team Member Starting Pay: $48/hour.
  • Overtime as required by state law.
  • Time and a half for company-approved holidays.
