EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE CEO
Location: Huntsville, AL
Compensation: $65,000 / year (salary)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, in office
Reports to: Jeffery Still, Chief Executive Officer
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is the right-hand seat to the CEO of one of the fastest-growing private security firms in the country.
Trident Security Solutions has made the Inc. 5000 list two years running, most recently ranked #1013 with 586% growth. Our clients include Fortune 500 companies, NFL teams and players, hospitals, school systems, and high-profile individuals across the country. We were founded in 2017 by three retired Navy SEALs and we are headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama.
You will work directly with our CEO, Jeffery Still. Jeff is a retired Navy SEAL officer with 22 years of service, including participation in the 2009 Maersk Alabama rescue off the coast of Somalia. He holds an MBA from Duke's Fuqua School of Business, leadership and management training from MIT Sloan, and executive education in strategic negotiation from Harvard. He runs Trident with the same operating tempo he learned in the Teams: clear standards, fast decisions, no wasted motion.
If you want a seat at the table where decisions actually get made, this is that seat.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
In your first 90 days:
- Take full ownership of Jeff's calendar, travel, and inbox triage
- Build a weekly cadence with him that you both trust
- Become the reliable point of contact for our leadership team, board members, and key clients
- Get fluent in our recurring rhythm: leadership meetings, client reviews, multi-state operations check-ins, and project deadlines
Ongoing:
- Run Jeff's calendar and travel as a strategic resource, not a logistics problem
- Prepare agendas, briefing documents, and meeting prep so Jeff walks into every room ready
- Draft and edit emails, memos, and communications in Jeff's voice
- Serve as the bridge between Jeff and our senior leadership, board, clients, and partners
- Track action items across the leadership team and follow up so nothing falls through the cracks
- Plan and execute leadership offsites, board meetings, and executive events
- Support special projects and strategic initiatives across the business
- Manage sensitive information with absolute discretion
WHO YOU ARE
You have at least five years supporting senior executives, ideally at the C-level. You are organized to a fault, you write well, and you read people quickly. You can hold a confidence, push back when you need to, and read a room before you speak.
You are comfortable in a fast-growing company where things change quickly and the right answer is often "figure it out." You think in systems, not just tasks. You understand that protecting an executive's time is a strategic skill, not a clerical one.
Required:
- 5+ years supporting senior executives (C-suite experience preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Excellent calendar, travel, and project management skills
- Comfort with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Discretion with sensitive information
- Valid U.S. Driver's License
- Ability to pass a background check
Nice to Have:
- Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field
- Experience supporting executives at a fast-growing or veteran-owned company
- Experience working directly with board members or external stakeholders
WHAT WE OFFER
- $65,000 base salary
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) retirement plan
- Paid time off
- Professional development support
- A front-row seat at one of the fastest-growing private companies in the country
- Direct mentorship from a leadership team with backgrounds in special operations, defense, and high-growth business
- A team that values clear standards, integrity, and getting things right the first time
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
This role is in office, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, at our Huntsville headquarters. The 8:30 start means you are settled and ready before the CEO begins his day. Extended periods of seated computer work are part of the role.
