As a Security Designer, you will serve as a strategic leader in safeguarding client R&D technology, assessing third-party vendors and marketing productions, and designing security plans that protect confidential projects from concept to product shipment. This role involves global travel to collaborate with partners, influence risk-aware decision-making, and promote sustainable security practices.

Job Summary

You will be responsible for:

  • Designing creative security plans and leading on-site assessments of third-party vendors, suppliers, and marketing productions.
  • Communicating actionable security strategies across all levels of the client organization.
  • Developing and implementing policies and initiatives to prevent loss and unauthorized disclosure of confidential projects.
  • Building relationships with internal and external partners worldwide to promote security awareness and influence decision-making.
  • Recognizing critical details, trends, and risks that others might overlook, and driving solutions that prioritize customer experience.
     

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • 3–8 years of experience working in complex, challenging environments with cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate across multiple lines of business and geographic locations to solve problems and deliver results.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and verbally to audiences of all sizes, from individual contributors to executives.
  • Manage complex projects and processes across highly-matrixed organizations.
  • Adapt to ambiguity and lend structure to undefined environments.
  • Read and respond to different organizational cultures and communication styles.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exhibit keen attention to detail and strong time management skills.
  • Design and deliver professional training to diverse, global audiences.
     

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • PSP, CISSP, or equivalent professional certification is a plus.
     

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.
  • Valid state-issued security license, if applicable based on assignment.

 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership, accountability, and ownership mindset.
  • Ability to work independently while providing excellent customer service.
  • Calm and adaptable under stress, with a positive attitude.
  • Strong situational awareness and the ability to take direction and execute confidently.
  • Knowledge of physical and/or logical security processes, technologies, and risk frameworks.
  • Experience in assessments or audits in physical security, information security, environmental health and safety, crisis management, risk management, supply chain, or logistics.
  • Experience in global, multi-lingual business environments.
  • Strong written communication skills.
     

Working Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk 2+ miles on client sites and work outdoors in various environments and weather conditions.
  • Stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.
  • Required to drive company or client vehicles between sites.

 

Reporting Structure

  • The Security Designer is a salaried exempt position that reports to client leadership and management for day-to-day tasking, and to the Trident Special Projects Operations Manager for administrative support.
